CURRENT CONCERNING ISSUES:
HENRY HARRIS LANDFILL
RICHWOOD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Our foundation began with a campaign to SAVE BLOCK 64, a 70-acre area comprised of twenty-three lots that were proposed to be deemed ”area in need of redevelopment” aka “blighted” which included considering seizing property through eminent domain for private development. The area includes over a dozen homes and small businesses on Main Street, some of which have been declared “historic,” as well as a synagogue and a Grange fraternal organization chapter. Thanks to public support and outcry we proved that “We The People” can make a difference. The Harrison Township Committee voted on Monday, August 19th, to remove 20 of 23 properties from a proposed “eminent domain”.
We will continue to follow the development of Block 64 along with any other property concerns within Harrison Township. We are all in this together and with your participation and support we can make a difference.
